
Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Iran should focus on promotingeconomic and trade cooperation to soon raise two-way trade value to 2 billionUSD as agreed by leaders of both sides, said Deputy Prime Minister and ForeignMinister Pham Binh Minh.
At a meeting in Hanoi on October 24 with Alaeddin Boroijerdi, Chairmanof the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the IranianParliament, Deputy PM Minh lauded the traditional friendship between the twocountries and showed delight at the successful visits of leaders of both sides.

For his part, Alaeddin Boroijerdi said that Vietnam is an importantpartner of Iran in the Southeast Asian region and Asia. He said he believesthat bilateral ties will continue thrive in the future, meeting the aspirationand interest of the two people.
He also promised to advise the Iranian Government to direct ministriesand sectors to coordinate with Vietnamese partners in effectively implementing agreementsbetween the two countries, especially in banking, agriculture, aquaculture andmining.
He asserted that the two sides should create favourable conditions forenterprises to boost investment and business in each other’s market.
As the President of the Vietnam-Iran Friendship Parliamentarians Group,he will continue contributing to the comprehensive growth of bilateralrelations for the prosperity of each country as well as the stability in theregion and the world.-VNA
