Feature film “Have a last life in Vietnam”, telling a true story of a Japanese woman who found a new life in Vietnam at the age of 82, began shooting in Hanoi on November 30 as the first Japanese-Vietnamese joint production.
The film is directed by Kabuki Omori and Tat Binh and has Japanese renowned actress Keiko Matsuzaka to play the starring role. Its scenes will be shot in the capital Hanoi, and the northern provinces of Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh, Vietnam.
Based on an autobiographical novel by Miyuki Komatsu, the story is about a Japanese teacher Shaso Misao and her 82-year-old mother.
Shaso Misao, 60, had come to Vietnam to teach Japanese, but could not stop thinking about her mother, who has dementia, living alone in Japan. She has convinced her mother, Sasho Shizue, to live with her in Hanoi.
They together found a whole new life in the heart of the Hanoi Old Quarter in front of the Cheo Theatre, where local traditional musicals are performed.
The film is expected to see its last scene’s shooting on December 31, 2015.-VNA
