Tra Vinh (VNA) – The first Vietnam – Japan cultural exchange programme 2016 took place at Tra Vinh University on November 17 by the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association (VJFA) of the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.
Representatives of the VJFAs of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City and Japanese enterprises as well as southern local businesses attended the event.
The programme included musical and traditional costume performances and other activities featuring culture of Vietnam and Japan. Handicraft products of the two countries were also displayed at the event.
The event strengthened friendship and fostered cbetween Vietnam and Japan, said Nguyen Trung Hoang – Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, adding it also honoured cultures of the two countries.
It also offered an opportunity for businesses to gain understanding about Tra Vinh’s potential and strength.-VNA
