The fifth scientific exchange seminar between Vietnamese and Japanese students was held in Tokyo on October 10.
The seminar, organised by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association (VYSA), aimed at creating knowledge exchanges between the two countries’ students and promoting Vietnamese-Japan academic exchange relations.
Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh, President of Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association (JVFA) Motoo Furuta, professors and researchers of the two countries joined around 300 outstanding overseas Vietnamese students in Japan at the event.
Addressing the seminar’s opening ceremony, Ambassador Binh spoke highly of overseas Vietnamese students’ contributions to building and developing their country over the past years. He expressed his pleasure at their excellent achievements in study and research in Japan .
The Ambassador suggested that the students promote their solidarity and cooperation in work, study and scientific research so as to make more contributions to the country and community.
For his part, the JVFA President said the Japan Education Association and Japanese universities are willing to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese students to study and do researches in Japan .
This year’s seminar had nearly 100 speeches of students from Vietnam , Japan , Thailand , Canada and the Republic of Korea .
On this occasion, overseas Vietnamese students also donated 100,000 YEN (over 1,000 USD) to support victims of the recent Ketsana typhoon in Vietnam ’s central provinces./.
