Vietnamese Government Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh on August 25 held talks with Japan’s Parliamentary Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Youji Mutou.

Vietnamese Government Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh on August 25 held talks with Japan’s Parliamentary Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Youji Mutou, discussing cooperation in training inspectors.

At the Hanoi meeting, Tranh shared Vietnam’s experience in managing citizen reception and the settlement of complaints and petitions.

Vietnam is speeding up the institutional building and finalising its legal system, especially laws regarding complaints, petitions, land, housing and construction investment, while revamping the state management in all areas, he said.

The host noted his country is actively expanding its international cooperation, learning lessons from foreign nations to improve its performance in receiving citizens and addressing complaints and petitions.

Japan’s experience in the fields is very useful for Vietnam, the Government Inspector stressed.

The two sides also discussed the use of Japan’s official development assistance (ODA) through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam.

Youji Mutou voiced his hope that the collaboration between the two agencies will further develop and reap significant outcomes.

He suggested the two sides increase their regular exchanges and meetings at inspection conferences in Asia, along with promoting administrative consultations and cooperation in handling administrative complaints.-VNA
