At the signing ceremony, Vietnamese DeputyMinister of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) Nguyen Thai Laisaid that his ministry has actively supported Laos in the field.However, the joint activities between the two countries over the pasttime have not matched their potential and special relationship, headded.

Therefore, the MNRE and its Lao counterparthave reviewed their cooperative activities between the two nations innatural resources and environment as well as discuss ways to boostbilateral ties in the coming time, he said.

Laistressed that the MoU will lay the foundation for promoting cooperationbetween the two ministries in all specialised fields, including waterresources, geology and minerals, land management and environmentalprotection.

For his part, Lao Deputy Minister ofNational Resources and Environment Sisavath Vithasay thanked theVietnamese ministry’s assistance over the past time and affirmed thatthe MoU will set a crucial base for their collaboration in the field ofnatural resources and environment.-VNA
