Vietnam, Laos hold friendly exchange in Japan

The embassies of Vietnam and Laos in Japan held a people-to-people exchange programme in Tokyo on August 10 to mark the 55th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and 40 years since the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation was signed.

Tokyo (VNA) – The embassies of Vietnam and Laos in Japan held a people-to-people exchange programme in Tokyo on August 10 to mark the 55th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties and 40 years since the Treaty on Amity and Cooperation was signed.

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong highlighted the close friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

In Japan, the bilateral tie were illustrated through close coordination between the two embassies, he said, hoping the relations will continue to grow stronger through effective cooperation between their representative offices.

Lao Ambassador Viroth Sundara said the exchange helped strengthen the two nations’ friendship.

Various activities were held during the event, including traditional art and cultural performances and table tennis competitions.-VNA
