In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi MinhNational Academy of Politics (HCMNAP) Le Quoc Ly said Vietnam and Laos sharecertain similarities in political system so that the event affords a chance to proposeimportant measures to deal with challenges, contributing to sustainable nationaldevelopment.
Ly lauded the significance of research on political systembetween scientists from the HCMNAP and the Lao National Academy of Politics andPublic Administration, which he said, contributes to not only improving mutualunderstanding and personnel training quality but also renovating Vietnamese andLao political systems.
Director of the Lao National Academy of Politics and PublicAdministration Thongsalith Mangnomek said the event will help study,strengthen, amend and supplement Party policies and guidelines, State laws aswell as reform socio-political organisations in the current context.
He urged participants to objectively review and compareVietnamese and Lao political systems in order to enhance the role, function andresponsibility of each agency, towards improving management transparency andquality.
Delegates heard 16 reports on advantages and disadvantagesin arranging activities of agencies, strong points and shortcomings inactivities of the Vietnamese political system, among others.
It was the second time the event had been held. The first ofits kind took place at the HCMNAP in Hanoi.-VNA
