Da Nang (VNA) - Vietnam drew 1-1 with Indonesia in the second round match of the four-side International U15 Football Tournament on June 16 in the central city of Da Nang.
The visiting side opened the score in the 23rd minute through captain Rendy Juliansyah from a close shot.
Vietnamese Nguyen Quoc Hoang levelled the result 30 minutes later. It was his fourth goal in the tournament and it made him the current top scorer.
Vietnam are on top of the ranking with four points. Indonesia are second with the same points but a worse goal difference.
In the later match on the same day, Myanmar tied Chinese Taipei 2-2.
Vietnam will meet Myanmar in the last round match while Indonesia will play Chinese Taipei on June 18.
“Indonesia have shown they are a strong team with good physique and technique. They created a lot of difficulties for Vietnam in this match. My defenders did not focus and they failed to stop the Indonesian midfielders from providing balls to the front line. My forwards performed poorly, missing their threatening chances,” coach Vu Hong Viet of Vietnam said.
“The 1-1 result reflects exactly what happened today. We will work harder in the last match for the top position,” he said.
Meanwhile coach Fakhri Husaini said it was a good game for Indonesia although some opportunities were not converted into goals.
He also hoped for a positive result against Chinese Taipei on June 18.-VNA
