Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam has exported bird’s nests to China by air for thefirst time, which once again reflects opportunities for the bird’s nestindustry to develop sustainably, especially after a protocol on bird’s nestexport to China was signed.

The first Vietnamesebird’s nest products shipped to China by air underwent customs clearance onJanuary 5. The products of The Hai Yen, based in Nha Trang city of centralKhanh Hoa province, were delivered from Tan Son Nhat International Airport inHo Chi Minh City to a company based in Shenzhen city of China.

Thisbatch was the first to be exported to China via the official channel by air sinceVietnamese firms were granted export codes for bird’s nest products in October2023.

In November, the first Vietnamesebird’s nests entered this neighbouring market via the official channel by land.

Tran Thanh Hai, CEO of The Hai Yen, said the company chose air transport to deliver its bird’s nests to ensure the bestquality as this means of transport is quick, thus minimising impact on productquality.

Hainoted that to export bird’s nests to China, the company has received support fromthe Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of AnimalHealth, and the Vietnamese Embassy in China.

Temporary suspensions, adjustments, or revisions of newly enacted policies are never ideal and should be minimised. Yet such course corrections occur worldwide, irrespective of a country's development stage or market-economy maturity. What counts is rapid remediation to contain losses, extraction of lessons to prevent recurrence, and firm resistance to the dissemination of misleading or hostile allegations, which will help both enforcers and those subject to compliance maintain clarity and composure.
