Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam News Agency (VNA) publications have continuously prioritised the coverage of news on the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL), its chapters and members at all levels, said VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi.
Loi made the statement on March 22 during a ceremony to present an insignia “For the cause of the VNA” to VGCL President Dang Ngoc Tung to honour his outstanding contributions to the development of the agency.
The VNA General Director also presented the insignias to four VGCL Vice Presidents, Tran Thanh Hai, Mai Duc Chinh, Nguyen Van Ngang and Tran Van Ly, and a certificate of merit to VGCL Vice President Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, who is also President of the Vietnam Labour Union.
Loi highlighted the traditional and historical partnership between the two agencies, saying that the confederation and its chapters have always provided support for the VNA over the past 70 years.
In 2012, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement to promote the activities and movements of the trade union sector from 2012 to 2017, according to Loi.
He expressed his belief that the two sides will realise the agreement in a more effective way, particularly in this new stage of national development.
For his part, VGCL President Dang Ngoc Tung hailed the communication work the VNA has done to promote the trade and labour unions, and pledged to do his utmost to foster the cooperative ties between the two agencies.-VNA
