Vietnam neither joined nor sent observers to the 2011 Cobra Gold military exercise in Thailand, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry has affirmed.
The spokesman, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, on Feb. 10 reiterated that Vietnam has pursued a consistent policy of “not joining any military alliance”.
