Vietnam offers help to Chinese quake victims

The Vietnamese Government has donated 100 tonnes of rice and 160,000 boxes of noodles worth 100,000 USD to help earthquake victims in Yushu town, northwest Qinghai province, return to their normal life.

Addressing the handover ceremony held in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on August 5, the vice special advisor to the Chinese Trade Ministry in Kunming , Zhao Chuanyi, thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government and people for their assistance, which, he said, reflected the Vietnam-China friendship.

He pledged to distribute the donations to the family victims.

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Yushu town, Qinghai province, on April 14, 2010, killing 1,484 people and injuring 12,088 others./.
