Vietnam wants to continue deepening friendly and cooperative ties with the Palestinian Party and people.
Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Head of its Commission for Popularisation and Education made this statement at a reception for Sharif Mishaal, Politburo member of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement Party (Fatah) in Hanoi on July 11.
Huynh spoke highly of the solidarity and traditional friendship between the two Parties and peoples, affirming the Vietnamese Party, State and people’s consistent solidarity with the Palestinian people’s fight for justice.
Mishaal highly valued the great achievements made by the Vietnamese people and the success of the 11 th National Party Congress of the CPV, opening up a new period in the national construction and defence, promoting the country’s industrialisation and modernisation in order to achieve the goal of a wealthy people, a strong country, a democratic, fair and civilised society.
He also informed Huynh of outcomes of talks with the CPVCC delegation and said he hoped the solidarity and friendship between the two Parties and people would be further promoted.
Earlier, the Palestinian Fatah delegation held talks with the CPVCC delegation, led by Hoang Binh Quan, member of the CPVCC and Head of its External Relations Commission.
The two sides informed each other about the situation of each Party and country and exchanged views on international issues of mutual concern, as well as discussed measures to expand solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and countries.
During its stay in Vietnam, the Palestinian Fatah delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Presidential Palace and held working sessions with the Vietnam Federation of Friendship Organisations, the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union./.
