Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh of the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam held talks with the Philippines' Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales in Hanoi on March 11.
Inspector General Tranh said he believes the visit by the delegation from the Office of the Ombudsman of the Philippines is a valuable opportunity for both sides to share experience in anti-corruption, therefore improving the efficiency of state management, increasing accountability and transparency in the two countries’ inspection activities.
In reply, Ombudsman Morales said corruption leaves a negative impact on human beings and socio-economic development.
The newly-signed memorandum of understanding on cooperation is a chance for both countries’ inspection agencies to share information and expertise in inspection work and combating corruption, she said.
The new agreement is expected to lay a firm foundation for friendly cooperation between the two agencies.-VNA
