Vientiane (VNA) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung, onbehalf of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations,handed over 30,000 face masks to Sounthone Sayachak, head of the Lao PartyCentral Committee’s Commission for External Relations, on November 6.

Ambassador Hung said that although Vietnam andLaos have both basically brought COVID-19 under control, they need to remain vigilantand continue supporting each other in carrying out preventive measureseffectively.

Sayachak thanked Vietnam for its support in thecontext of the country facing a host of difficulties itself, in particularrecent storms and flooding.

This is a clear demonstration of the specialLaos-Vietnam relations, she said, adding that the gift will help her country continueto curb the pandemic./.

Coast Guard Region 2 promotes IUU-free fishing among Quang Ngai fishermen

The Command of Coast Guard Region 2 briefed the fishermen on the Law of the Sea of Vietnam, the Fisheries Law, and legal documents related to IUU prevention. Officers also provided guidance on identifying areas under Vietnam’s sovereignty and jurisdiction, traditional fishing grounds, warning zones, and prohibited fishing areas.
