Vietnam promotes cruise tourism

Vietnam boasts a 3,260km long coastline with over 4,000 islands and reefs, numerous beautiful bays and beaches, and deep-water ports that allow large ships to anchor close to shore, offering significant advantages for developing cruise tourism.

Cruise tourism is becoming one of the most rapidly growing sectors, contributing to the green economy while elevating Vietnam's tourism brand.

In the first two months of this year, the country welcomed 90,700 international visitors arriving by cruise ships, a sevenfold increase compared to the same period last year.

Phu Quoc Island and Ha Long Bay are increasingly popular destinations for cruise tourists.

15 cruise ships have already docked in Nha Trang since the beginning of the year. The cities of Da Nang and Hue are expected to receive 40-45 cruise ships in 2024.

Travelers by cruises typically have high spending levels, making this kind of tourism a strategic source for the country./.
