Addressing the 2014 VietnamEconomic Forum, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dongstressed the need to have discussions on issues relating to policies,national strategies, economic restructuring, and solutions forsustainable development.

At the annual event, participantsunderlined the significance of green growth, saying that it willcontribute to solving requirements on rational growth and sustainablepoverty reduction, ensuring equality in development opportunities foreach people and improving the people’s living conditions.

Greengrowth must be based on the increase of investment in preserving,developing and using effectively natural resources, while reducinggreenhouse gas emissions and protecting the environment, the forumheard.

Apart from discussing the Government’s policies andnational strategies, the forum focused on economic restructuring incombination with growth model renovation in a more effective andsustainable manner, thus opening up big opportunities for Vietnam toadvance towards green growth and the green economy.-VNA

PM asks for enhanced efficiency in managing monetary, fiscal policies

Regarding the monetary policy, the PM tasked the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) with coordinating with relevant agencies to closely monitor global and domestic economic developments and proactively, flexibly, and effectively manage the monetary policy in line with macroeconomic conditions and monetary policy objectives, as outlined in the Government’s Resolution No. 154/NQ-CP dated May 31, 2025, regular cabinet meetings’ resolutions, and the PM’s directives.
