Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam reported no new COVID-19 cases on May 22 evening, marking it 36 straight days without no new infections in the community.
Of the total 324 confirmed cases, 184 are imported ones who were quarantined right after entering the country.
One more COVID-19 patient was declared recovered on May 22 afternoon.
Patient 149 is a 40-year-old Vietnamese man. He was declared recovered for the first time on April 16 by the Quang Ninh Hospital No 2. Then he continued to be quarantined at the hospital.
He tested positive again on April 21. The patient then continued to receive different tests and his results from April 28 to May 5 were negative for SARS-CoV-2.
Now, he is in a stable condition and will be supervised for the next 14 days.
A total of 267 cases have recovered, accounting for 82 percent of the accumulative caseload, while the 57 active cases are being treated at different medical facilities across the country.
Six have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 after treatment, while three more have tested negative for the virus twice.
More than 14,700 people are under quarantine at hospitals, medical stations and at home.
No fatalities have been reported in the country so far./.
