Vietnam reported no new COVID-19 cases on August 27 morning, keeping the national tally at 1,034, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam reported no newCOVID-19 cases on August 27 morning, keepingthe national tally at 1,034, according to the National SteeringCommittee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

As many as 632 patients have been given the all-clear and there have been 29 COVID-19-relateddeaths so far.

Among the active patients, 41 have testednegative for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 52 twice and 51 three times.

Currently, 70,916 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are under quarantinenationwide, including 1,596 people quarantined at hospitals, 18,828people at concentrated quarantine establishments and 50,492 at home./.

Vietnam performs first awake brain surgery on child patient

The hospital announced on May 19 that the patient, a 12-year-old boy, recovered well after surgery, remained fully conscious and showed no new focal neurological deficits. Post-operative imaging indicated that the tumour had been almost completely removed. Vietnam moves toward universal free annual health checkups from 2026

Every Vietnamese citizen from 2026 onward will be entitled to at least one free annual medical checkup or screening. Each individual will also have a digital health record integrated into the national digital identification platform VNeID, enabling authorities and healthcare providers to manage health data in a synchronised and continuous manner.
