Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son is paying an official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK) from June 27-30.
The visit, which is made at the invitation of RoK Minister of Public Security and Administration Maeng Hyung-kyu, forms part of the activities marking the 20 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (Dec. 22).
During a meeting with Minister Maeng Hyung-kyu on June 28, Son and his host briefed each other of their countries’ development in information technology and communications and discussed the framework for future cooperation.
Son suggested the two sides continue enhancing cooperation in personnel training, building policies on IT application in state-owned agencies, e-government and online administrative services of social organisations.
The same day, Son met with Chairman of the RoK Communications Commission Lee Kye-cheok. They compared notes on the development of telecoms infrastructure, internet and broadcasting.
Both expressed their wish to boost cooperation in digital TV technology, digital content, information safety and exchange of human resources in the communication sector.-VNA
