The two sides reached the consensusduring talks between National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu andvisiting First Vice Chairman of the Russian State Duma Ivan Melnikov onDecember 23 in Hanoi .
Both sides acknowledged thatcooperation between the two legislatures has been continuouslyconsolidated and developed over recent time, contributing to cementingthe Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
They alsoagreed to further strengthen their friendship and cooperation andcreate favourable conditions for Vietnamese and Russian businesses topromote trade and investment.
Luu affirmed that Vietnamalways attaches significance to its comprehensive partnership withRussia and considers the country the most important partner in itsdiplomatic policies.
The Russian guest hailed achievementsVietnam has recorded in the national renewal, industrialisation andmodernisation.
Regarding the Vietnam-Russia relationship, thetwo leaders agreed to continue strengthening cooperation in such areasas oil and gas, nuclear power, trade and investment, security anddefence, scicence and technology, training, culture, tourism and labourcooperation, among others.-VNA
