Vietnam and Russia have shared experiences in how to organise legislative and people’s elected bodies at central and local levels.
The experiences were shared during a meeting between the deputy head of the Ho Chi Minh City NA Deputy Delegation, Huynh Thanh Lap, and a Russian NA delegation led by Umakhanov Ilias-Magomet Salamovich, First Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Council (Senate), in Ho Chi Minh City on September 20.
At the reception, Lap said that HCM City and Vietnam wish to learn from and strengthen cooperation with Russia in addressing problems arising during the socio-economic development process, such as traffic congestion, urban flooding and environmental pollution.
For his part, Umakhanov expressed his belief that Russia and Vietnam have many opportunities to further their cooperation and experience sharing for the common interests of the two countries as well as for the prosperity and development of the region and the world.
The Russian guests, who are in Vietnam to attend the 31 st General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-31), visited HCM City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province from September 19-20 to exchange legislative experiences and visit economic cooperation models between Vietnam and Russia ./.
