Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan (L) and Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Sanae Takaichi (Source: VNA) Duringtalks with the Japanese official in Tokyo on March 29, Minister Tuan, who is ona working visit to Japan, suggested the Japanese side makes informationsecurity-related projects a priority when providing official developmentassistance (ODA) for Vietnam, and assists Vietnam in building a pilot smartcity project.
Heexplained that the Vietnamese Government always considers the information-communicationtechnology (ICT) industry as a spearhead economic sector, which greatlycontributes to the country’s socio-economic development.
The minister hailed the effective ICT cooperation and the implementation of thememorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two ministers over thepast time.
He expressed his hope that the two ministries will continue supporting andfacilitating cooperation between the two countries’ ICT enterprises in thecoming time.
For her part, Sanae Takaichi affirmed Japan will share its experience with andsupport Vietnam in developing the ICT sector.
Following the talks, the two ministers signed an agreement on establishing ajoint working group, aiming to foster collaboration between the two ministries.
They also witnessed the signing of a principle agreement between the Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post),the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and the Hitachi Group of Japan; and aframework service contract between Vietnam Post and the Hitachi Asia (Vietnam) Co.,Ltd.-VNA
