Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is looking for stronger cooperation with Germany across trade, environmental technology, ecology, processing technology and human resources training, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Doan Xuan Hung.

Talking to representatives from the Thuringia State, and its Parliament, chamber of commerce and industry (IHK) and development corporation agency on June 8, Hung highlighted Vietnam’s political and social stability and its determination to speed up industrialisation, modernisation and international integration.

The Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership has developed fruitfully in recent time, he, adding that former President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Germany last year opened great cooperation opportunities for the two countries’ enterprises.

Thuringia State Governor Bodo Ramelow suggested mutual cooperation in renewable energy, glass manufacturing technology, vocational training, and nursing, as well as the production of goods to be exported to a third country.

President of the State of Parliament of Thuringia Christian Carius said he is willing to support the two sides to step up relations.

The legislator valued the Vietnamese community in the state, saying they demonstrate a successful integration example in Germany.

In his meeting with IHK Director Ralf Pieterwas, the Vietnamese official informed about the Embassy-hosted upcoming two workshops in Germany on June 22, together with a plan to arrange events in Thuringia to promote Vietnam’s tourism and opportunities for investment and business in the country.

Before Thuringen, the Vietnamese diplomat toured other states including Brandenburg, Berlin, Baden-Wurtemberg, and Sachsen, with a view to introducing investment opportunities in Vietnam and promoting trade links with German localities.-VNA
