Hanoi (VNA)– There were 950 cyberattacks on Vietnam’s information system in January,a decline of 33% and 23% compared with that of December 2023 and the sameperiod last year, respectively.
The decrease is an initial result of the measures that agencies andunits have taken to enhance cyber safety and security, with more investment to monitoring systems, problem-detecting systems and warnings.
However, informationsecurity experts also noted that agencies, organisations and businesses stillneed to pay special attention to ensuring information security because cyberattackers are usually more active before and during the Lunar New Year (Tet)festival.
Before the Tetholidays, agencies, organisations, and businesses are recommended to review, examine, and identify signs of attack on sensitive server devices and removemalicious code if any.
In addition, unitsshould also comprehensively evaluate and test intrusions on serversystems and applications to detect security loopholes that exist on systems andapplications. At the same time, it is necessary to assess the level of risksand impact of the security loopholes and upgrade the systems, fix them, andminimise their risks./.
