Vietnam sends condolences to Nepal over quake tragedy

According to incompletestatistics, the death toll passed 1,800 after the devastating 7.8magnitude quake, which is said the worst disaster in the quake-proneHimalayan nation in more than 80 years.

Severed communications and landslides in the country posed challenges to relief efforts.

Onthe day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minhcabled a message of sympathy to Nepalese Foreign Minister MahendraBahadur Pandey.

In their messages, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dungand Deputy PM and FM Pham Binh Minh sent their heartfelt sympathies toNepal and expressed their hope that Nepalese people would soon overcomethe tragedy and resume their regular activities.-VNA
