Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese chess players Nguyen Anh Khoi and Nguyen Thi Mai Hung secured top titles at the JAPFA 3rd ASEAN Championships 2015 in Jakarta , Indonesia on December 30.

In the boy’s category ASEAN Open, Khoi defeated host player Susanto Megaranto with an elo 2544 (highest among male contestants in the event) in the final round to secure a total of seven points to win the gold medal, reported Nhan Dan (People) newspaper.

In the girl’s category, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung earned nine points, ranking first.

The JAPFA 3rd ASEAN Championships 2015, held from December 22 to 30, attracted competitors from Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and host Indonesia.-VNA

Major prehistoric findings in Nghe An reveals ancient rituals
