Vietnam steps up IPv6 transition

The Ministry of Information and Communications announced a programme on transition to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) in 2021-2025, which will focus on state agencies, instead of the community and business circle as in the previous period, at a meeting in Hanoi on January 15.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Information and Communications announced a programme on transition to InternetProtocol version 6 (IPv6) in 2021-2025, which will focus on state agencies,instead of the community and business circle as in the previous period, at a meeting in Hanoi on January 15.

Deputy Minister of Information and CommunicationsNguyen Huy Dung said between 2021-2022, half of ministries, agencies andlocalities are set to adopt IPv6 transitional plans and successfully shifttowards IPv6 for their portals. All of them are expected to roll out the plansbetween 2022-2025.

He stressed that Vietnam needs to prepare infrastructure for digitaltransformation, especially e-Government.

In Vietnam, the IPv6 transition in networks,services, applications, software is an evolution that ensures Internetresources capacity and security requirements to support digital transformationand development of e-government and smart cities services./.

DNA testing capacity expanded to identify over 207,000 martyrs’ remains

By September 2026, Steering Committee 515 had collected samples from the remains of 207,656 martyrs, achieving 98.15% of the goal. Nearly 120,000 samples have been received and preserved. Additionally, authorities gathered 265,761 DNA samples from martyrs’ relatives, with about 100,000 analysed and around 80,000 results entered into the database.
