Vietnam will officially become the sixth member of the Asian Fashion Federation (AFF) at a ceremony in Hanoi on November 22.
The ceremony will feature six special collections by designers from Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Le Quoc An, Chairman of the Vietnam Textiles and Apparel Association and representative of the AFF in Vietnam told a press briefing on Nov.20 that Vietnam will take full advantage of its new AFF membership throughout the garments and fashion industry.
The Vietnamese industry will now have the opportunity to exchange information with other member countries, improve its competitive capacity, develop its products and turn its fashion strategies into reality, he stressed.
The AFF was established in 2002 following an agreement between Japan, the Republic of Korea and China. Thailand and Singapore joined the federation later in 2008./.
