Vietnam to joint Asian Fashion Federation

Vietnam will officially become the sixth member of the Asian Fashion Federation at a ceremony in Hanoi on November 22.
Vietnam will officially become thesixth member of the Asian Fashion Federation (AFF) at a ceremony inHanoi on November 22.

The ceremony will feature sixspecial collections by designers from Japan, the Republic of Korea,China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Le Quoc An, Chairman of the Vietnam Textiles and Apparel Associationand representative of the AFF in Vietnam told a press briefing onNov.20 that Vietnam will take full advantage of its new AFF membershipthroughout the garments and fashion industry.

The Vietnamese industry will now have the opportunity to exchangeinformation with other member countries, improve its competitivecapacity, develop its products and turn its fashion strategies intoreality, he stressed.

The AFF was established in 2002 following an agreement between Japan,the Republic of Korea and China. Thailand and Singapore joined thefederation later in 2008./.

Hanoi waives public transport fares during Tet holiday

During the same period, the Hanoi Traffic Operation Centre, in coordination with bus operators, will also waive fares on subsidised bus services.
