Vietnam to popularise 5G in 2020

The infrastructure for broadband and database have been pulling out all the stops to in order to finalise the mobile 4G network and deploy 5G in 2020, meeting the Internet of Things requirements.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has said the infrastructure for broadband and database have been pulling out all the stops to in order to finalise the mobile 4G network and deploy 5G in 2020, meeting the Internet of Things requirements.

With its business in goods services, Viet Anh International Transportation Services and Trading Limited Company is in charge of managing over 30 vehicles a day. Previously, its manager had to make multiple phone calls to inspect vehicle locations and delivery timings. Now, thanks to a vehicle inspection app, the manager can accurately locate the positions of vehicles without having to ring them up individually.

The inspection devices installed on vehicles are connected by the Internet, so they can update data precisely and continuously transfer videos to the central device. Thanks to this, users can follow the route of vehicles and operators can give prompt warnings for delivery messengers.

Topping priorities to develop smart solutions is developing digital infrastructure, mobile 4G broadband networks, and enhancing connection between countries in the region. Vietnam ranks only behind Singapore in terms of the data transfer speed of its 4G network.

Currently, the Ministry of Information and Communications has submitted to the Government policies on favorable conditions for changes of economic sectors, of which broadband and database infrastructure development are paid heed to. This is considered a great opportunity for domestic firms, including telecommunication service providers, digital developers, and device producers. –VNA
