Vietnam to search for medals at Sepaktakraw World Cup

Vietnamese athletes are in Malaysia and ready to compete at the International Sepaktakraw (rattan ball kicking) Federation World Cup from May 18 to 26 at the Titiwangsa Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) -- Vietnamese athletes are in Malaysia and ready to compete at the International Sepaktakraw (rattan ball kicking) Federation World Cup from May 18 to 26 at the Titiwangsa Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.

Twenty-one countries will take part in the tournament. Vietnam are among 12 teams in the top Premier Division with nine are in Division One.

Vietnam are in Group B with China and India in the double event while they play powerhouse Thailand and Indonesia in the regu (three players in each team) category.

At the last event, Thailand won four golds in both two classes for men and women. Vietnam took two silvers in the women's competitions.

This year, no women's tournament is taking place./.
