Vietnam wants Slovakia to share more experiences in auditing as this field is new here, the State President said during his meeting with the President of Slovakia’s Supreme Audit Office (SAS).

State President Nguyen Minh Triet asked the SAS to help the State Audit of Vietnam improve its competence in auditing budgets and appraising State budget estimates, along with personnel training.

He said he was pleased to see growing ties between Vietnam and Slovakia and thanked the latter for consistent support for Vietnam during its national liberation in the past and its ties with the EU.

“ Vietnam highly values Slovakia ’s position in Europe and the international arena and wishes to expand its cooperation with Slovakia in all areas,” said President Triet.

SAS President Jan Jasovsky said his country admired and highly valued the achievements Vietnam has made in its socio-economic development and especially in the fight against poverty.

He congratulated Vietnam on its performance as ASEAN Chair this year and on the 1,000 th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The SAS President said his country was delighted that Vietnam and the EU initialled a framework agreement on partnership and comprehensive cooperation, which was seen as a new and important milestone in the relationship.

He expressed his country’s desire to boost cooperation with Vietnam for mutual development.

Earlier the same day, the SAS President held talks with Vietnam ’s Auditor General Vuong Dinh Hue to seek ways to orientate ties between the two audit agencies.

On the day, the SAS President also met with Vice National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien./.
