Hanoi (VNA) - Phan Dinh Trac, Chairman of the Party CentralCommittee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, hosted a reception on December 14 for Venezuelan Agriculture and LandMinister Wilmar Castro Soteldo, who is in Vietnam for the first International Rice Festival2023.

During the meeting, Trac affirmed the consistent policy of theParty and State of Vietnam of attaching importance to the traditionalsolidarity with the UnitedSocialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and comprehensive partnership with the LatinAmerican nation. He said Vietnam is willing to share experiences and createfavourable conditions for expanding agricultural cooperation between the twocountries.

He said that the Venezuelan guest’s working visit is a practicalactivity to promptly implement the consensus of high-ranking leaders of the twoparties and two countries, thus further strengthening the Vietnam – Venezuela comprehensivepartnership, especially strategic cooperation fields, including agriculture.

He highly valued practical measures agreed upon by the two countries’agriculture ministers to resume and promote agricultural cooperation programmes,and the signing of cooperation agreement in wet rice production which Vietnamhas strength and experience and both sides have a high demand for cooperation.

For his part, Soteldo, who is also member of the PSUV’s national political council, expressed his admiration of the important achievements Vietnam recorded across its Doi Moi (renewal) process, and miracle achievements of the Vietnamese agriculture in particular.  

He called the Vietnameseagriculture one of the largest rice producers in the world to ensuring food security. He said that Vietnam has shared experience and cooperation models bothbilaterally and multilaterally in agricultural development and processing of agriculturalproducts, especially rice, coffee, and seafood./.

NA deputies continue to discuss amendments to Constitution on May 14

The draft resolution to amend and supplement certain articles of the 2013 Constitution comprises two main articles. Article 1 outlines eight proposed amendments and additions to existing constitutional provisions, focusing on the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and other socio-political organisations, administrative units, and the organisation of local government. Article 2 contains three clauses dealing with enforcement and transitional provisions of the amendments.
