Vietnam, US vow to boost POW/MIA activities

Vinh welcomed Newberry’s visit and affirmed that concerned Vietnam agencies and localities have actively implemented MIA activities and reaped fine outcomes. These manifested Vietnam ’s humanitarian and cooperative goodwill on the MIA issues as well as the issues of mutual concern.

He said he hoped that the two countries’ MIA agencies will boost MIA activities, thus contributing to strengthening multilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the US .

The guest spoke highly of the Vietnamese government’s support on MIA issues during the past years and expressed his hope that the Defence Ministry and relevant agencies of Vietnam will continue facilitate the US in MIA activities to meet the demand of the MIA US families and bolster the two countries’ cooperation.

At the meeting, Newberry presented the Vietnam Defence Ministy with former Vietnamese soldiers’ items, which were kept by former US militias during the war./.
