Vietnam welcomes and supports related parties to continue promoting recent positive outcomes regarding the Korean Peninsula, and strengthening cooperation in building a nuclear-free area, laying firm foundation for peace, stability, cooperation and development on the peninsula and in the region and the world, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Hanoi (VNA) –Vietnam welcomes and supports related parties to continue promoting recent positiveoutcomes regarding the Korean Peninsula, and strengthening cooperation inbuilding a nuclear-free area, laying firm foundation for peace, stability, cooperationand development on the peninsula and in the region and the world, said ForeignMinistry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Hang made thestatement in reply to reporters’ queries on Vietnam’s view on recentdevelopments on the Korean Peninsula during a regular press conference of the ForeignMinistry in Hanoi on May 31.

Recently, the mediareported that US President Donald Trump and leader of the Democratic People'sRepublic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un are expected to have a meeting inSingapore on June 12. It is expected to create a breakthrough for the DPRK’snuclear issue and bring everlasting peace to the Korean Peninsula.-VNA
