NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong stated this at a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Hanoi on May 26.

Vietnam has consistently backed the Palestinian’s struggle for basic national rights, said NA Chairman Trong, adding that he believed the Palestinian people, with their solidarity and determination will be successful and build up an independent state, which will bring peace and stability to the Middle East .

President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his admiration of Vietnam ’s achievements during its past struggle for national liberation and in the current national construction and defence.

He highlighted Palestinian efforts to build a peaceful, independent and strong country and said that his country needs support from the international community.

He also announced that during his visit, Vietnam and Palestine signed a number of important deals, laying the foundation for closer links between the two countries in the future.

Palestine will also send delegations to seek out investment opportunities and boost cultural exchanges with Vietnam , the Palestinian leader said.

Later on the day, President Mahmoud Abbas left Hanoi , concluding his three-day official visit to Vietnam./.
