Vietnamese animation steps into the spotlight

In the summer of 2025, amid a wave of international blockbusters, two fully homegrown 3D animated films made their theatrical debut in Vietnam — marking the first time that two Vietnamese-produced animated features were released side by side. Not only did they captivate young audiences nationwide, they were also recognised at the 3rd Asian Film Festival – Da Nang, signalling a new chapter for Vietnamese animation and proving that cultural identity is its greatest strength.
