Vietnamese, Argentine news agencies sign cooperation MoU

The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Telam, the National News Agency of Argentina have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in multi-media communication and several other fields.
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and Telam, the National News Agency ofArgentina have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in multi-mediacommunication and several other fields.

Anmemorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed between VNAGeneral Director Tran Mai Huong and Telam Vice Chairman Sergio FernandezNovoa in Bariloche city, Argentina , on October 22.

The MoU, the second of its kind between the VNA and Telam inked onthe sidelines of the 3 rd World Congress of News Agencies (WCNA), isthe foundation for the two agencies to exchange audio-visual informationproducts, which the two leaders said play an increasing role in themodern communication world.

The two sides also pledged to expand their activities to other types of communication and cooperate in training work.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, VNA General Director Tran Mai Huongcongratulated Telam on its successful organisation of the 3 rd WCNAand expressed his hope that the national news agency of Argentina willact as a bridge for Vietnam to access information sources in theSouth American region.

The Telam Vice Chairmanaffirmed that the cooperation with the VNA is Telam’s important step inits process of expanding international news service.

During their stay in Argentina , the VNA delegation held bilateralmeetings with representatives of many news agencies, including France’s AFP, Prensa Latina of Cuba , Kyodo of Japan, Yonhap of theRepublic of Korea , Antara of Indonesia, Montsame of Mongolia, AAP ofAustralia, Notimex of Mehico and IP of Paraguay./.
