Vietnamese athletes win medals at Thai Open

Nguyen Thi Oanh won a gold medal in the women's 100m event at the Thai Open Track and Field Championships that started on September 6.

Oanh finished in 11.81sec, beating her previous time of 12.02 at the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore in June.

Another Vietnamese representative, Le Thi Mong Tuyen, won a bronze medal in this category with a time of 11.92.

In the women's long jump, 28th SEA Games silver medalist Bui Thi Thu Thao brought home a gold medal with a jump of 6.48m.

Nguyen Van Cong jumped 7.59m to bag a silver medal in the men's long jump, while Nguyen Thanh Nhan took a bronze medal in the men's high jump with 2.08m.

Vietnam sent eight athletes to the event, which will conclude on September 9.-VNA

Photo exhibition highlights Vietnam–Israel cultural ties
