Bui Van Tu, a construction engineer from Hanoi, with a deep passion for arts, has created impressive traditional sculpture with lighting effects. Recently, inspired by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s legacy of “bamboo diplomacy”, the artisan has crafted a light sculpture, namely “Vietnamese bamboo,” in commemoration of the Party leader.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony in Hanoi on April 25 to mark 70 years since the signing of the Geneva Agreement on the Cessation of Hostilities in Vietnam - an important milestone in the struggle for national liberation of the Vietnamese people and a great victory of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s recent article provides objective assessments on the outcomes, achievements and experience that the Party and country have gained throughout historical periods, thus inspiring people’s pride in the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic Vietnamese nation, and reinforcing their confidence in the country’s path towards socialism, according to Dr. Nguyen Huu Cuong from the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Amid numerous difficulties and uncertainties in the global situation last year, Vietnam has obtained significant results, making breakthroughs and historic achievements. These have become a “highly impressive bright spot” in the country’s achievements over the last more than half of the 13th National Party Congress as assessed by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

A book of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on the building and development of Vietnam’s diplomacy deeply imbued with the characteristics of “Vietnamese bamboo” made debut at a ceremony held in Hanoi on November 21.

The promotion of the "bamboo diplomacy" demonstrates Vietnam's confidence in foreign affairs, and serves the goal of ensuring national interests under all circumstances and at all times, said Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, a researcher at the Centre for Policy Futures under the University of Queensland in Australia.
