HCM City (VNA) – The VietnamYouth Federation (VYF) rounded off the Vietnam – Cambodia youth friendshipmeeting 2017 on September 11.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President ofthe VYF Central Committee Vu Minh Ly said the gathering strengthened mutualunderstanding and trust between the sides and helped educate the participants onVietnam - Cambodia traditional ties.

Ly stated Vietnamese youths stand side byside with their Cambodian peers to cement the two countries’ relations.

Kim Rithy, Vice President of the CambodianUnion of Youth Federations’ Central Committee, said the event helped Cambodianyouths understand the history of Vietnam and of Vietnam – Cambodia relations duringboth wartime and peace.

The meeting took place from September 9 to11 with the participation of 50 Cambodian delegates. It featured talks betweenleaders of the two youth federations and activities in Ho Chi Minh City andBinh Duong.-VNA

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar

On April 8, 28, and May 14, three groups comprising a total of 471 citizens safely returned to Vietnam.
