Beijing (VNA) – Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA)’s General Department of Politics held talks on December 3 with Lieut. Gen. Liu Dewei, Vice Chairman of the Department of Political Work under China's Central Military Commission (CMC).

The talks formed part of activities of Nghia’s working visit to China from December 2-7.

During the talks, Liu appreciated the visit, saying that it will contribute to strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries’ armies and people, thus further stepping up the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

For his part, Nghia highlighted the stable and fruitful development of bilateral relations, adding that the two sides’ leaders have always created favourable conditions for the armies to boost cooperation.

The two countries have been active in implementing the joint vision declaration on defence cooperation by 2025 between their defence ministries, Nghia said, adding that the cooperation in Party and political work has significantly contributed to the relations between the two parties, states, and armies.

The two sides shared experience and discussed solutions for promoting political and ideological education in the army in order to contribute to building a strong army in terms of politics and ideology.

They also proposed orientations to expand cooperation between the VPA’s General Department of Politics and the CMC’s Department of Political Work in the time to come.

On the same day’s morning, the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy visit to Sen. Lieut. Gen. Miao Hua, Chairman of the CMC’s Department of Political Work. –VNA
