Vietnamese, Chinese Party chiefs hold phone talks

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping talked over the phone on March 21, discussing major orientations to elevate the two countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership in the coming time.

During the phone talks, Trong once again congratulated Xi Jinping on his recent election as the new State President of China.

He expressed his wishes that the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Chinese Party and State, headed by Xi Jinping, will keep reaping greater achievements in the reform and open-door cause and the building of a whole well-off society and socialism deeply imbued with Chinese characteristics.

Party General Secretary and State President Xi thanked the Vietnamese Party chief for his congratulations.

He affirmed that the Party, State and people of China attach extreme importance to the ties with Vietnam and are willing to increasingly deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two Parties and nations.-VNA
