The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) have met to inspect, devise and sign labour agreements and discuss how to cope with the global economic downturn.

These issues were included in talks between the Vice President of the VGCL Nguyen Van Ngang and Zhang Shi Ping, a member of the Secretariat and Director of the ACFTU Audit Committee, in Hanoi on December 7.

They discussed research and the exchange of information as well as visits by delegations to train cadres to step up cooperation between both trade unions.

Vietnam always attaches a great importance to its friendship and cooperation with China and is willing to deepen bilateral ties to contribute to trade, renovation and construction in both countries, stated the VGCL Vice President.

The relationship between the VGCL and ACFTU has been consolidated and developed, said Ngang, saying he hoped to promote the friendly relationship between the two trade unions for the rights and interests of workers in both countries.

Zhang Shi Ping emphasised that the visit aims to develop the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam in general and the two trade unions in particular.

The VCFTU has always made its relations with the VGCL a priority, said Zhang Shi Ping, saying she hoped both trade unions would increase dialogue on issues of mutual concern./.
