The Cam Pha Cement Joint Stock Company in the northern province of Quang Ninh has exported 15,000 tonnes of clinker to the Middle East.
The move is seen as a turning point in the country’s cement industry as Vietnam used to import this material, mostly from mainland China , Taiwan and Thailand , at a relatively high price.
The company is to export clinker and cement to huge potential markets such as Africa and the Middle East , said Company Director Hoang Anh Tuan, adding that this is part of the firm’s development strategy.
The company, under the Vietnam Construction Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (VINACONEX), has previously exported its cement based products to Cambodia and Laos./.
