Vietnamese farming produce favored by Koreans

In the first half of this year, Vietnam's exports to the Republic of Korea (RoK) reached some 12 billion USD, an increase of nearly 11% compared to the same period last year. Notably, Vietnamese farming produce is increasingly favored by Koreans.

According to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, the RoK has surpassed Japan, to become Vietnam's second-largest fruit and vegetable importer, only after China.

In the reviewed period, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports to the RoK increased by 55%, compared to the same period last year, reaching 164 million USD.

The most favorite fruits from Vietnam include mango, longan, dragon fruit, banana, pineapple, and durian.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, fruit and vegetable export revenue in the first six months of the year reached nearly 3.5 billion USD, marking a significant increase of 28% year-on-year.

In June alone, the export value of fruits and vegetable was estimated at approximately 780 million USD./.
