Hanoi (VNA) – Hundreds of Vietnamese living in Canada attended an art programmewelcoming the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) in Toronto city on January 8.

The programme, the first of its kind, was co-organised by the VietnameseEmbassy in Canada and the Canada-Vietnam Society with the assistance from theState Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Toronto government.

It featured performances by artists from Vietnam’s Tuoi tre (Youth) Theatre.

According toVietnamese Ambassador to Canada Nguyen Duc Hoa, the programme not only enrichesthe spiritual and cultural life of Vietnamese expatriates at the time of Tetbut also boosts the Vietnam-Canada relationship.

Canadian MPMichael Levitt, who participated in the event, said the Vietnamese communityhas made significant contributions to Canada and the relationship between thetwo countries.-VNA

ASEAN Para Games 13: Vietnam adds athletics gold

After three days of competition, Vietnam’s para athletics team has won a total of 22 medals, including five golds, 11 silvers, and six bronzes, reinforcing its important role in the delegation’s overall success at the ASEAN Para Games 13.
