As the 13th National Party Congress is approaching, Vietnamese people in the Czech Republic have expressed high expectations for the once-in-five-years event.

Prague (VNA) – As the 13th National Party Congress is approaching, Vietnamesepeople in the Czech Republic have expressed high expectations for the once-in-five-yearsevent.

HoangDinh Thang, President of the Union of Vietnamese People Associations in Europeand Honorary Chairman of the Vietnamese People Association in the CzechRepublic, voiced his belief in the success of the 13th National Party Congress,scheduled to take place in Hanoi from January 25 to February 2.

Accordingto him, the Party and State have made thorough content and personnelpreparations for the congress, including collecting opinions from people bothat home and abroad about the draft documents to be submitted to the event.

Mostof overseas Vietnamese are well aware that the Party and State havesuccessfully carried out the resolutions issued at the 12th National Party Congressin early 2016, gaining significant achievements in developing the economy andpromoting Vietnam’s stature in the international arena, he noted.

Theyear 2020 was full of difficulties for the whole world, but Vietnam became abright spot when it secured the concurrent successes of curbing the pandemicand sustaining economic growth. The country also succeeded in performingimportant international duties, boosting international economic integration,and enhancing external relations in both bilateral and multilateral aspects.

Thoseaccomplishments are a source of pride for Vietnam and also show the unanimityof the entire political system and the whole people, both at home and abroad,in national development, Thang said.

Hevoiced his hope that via this time’s congress, the Party and State willcontinue paying attention to the overseas Vietnamese community by issuingconcrete policies that help them be more connected with the homeland and betterintegrate into host societies.

Vietnamesepeople in Europe also expect Vietnam’s relations with European countries willbe further strengthened to reach a new height, and they will serve as animportant bridge in this process, he added.

NguyenVan Son, Secretary of the Part cell at the SAPA Trade Centre and Director ofthe Prague Centre of Vietnamese Language, also showed his pride in recentnational development achievements and believed in the Party’s leadership and thesuccess of the coming National Party Congress.

Hesaid overseas Party members like him are delighted with the Party and State’sdrastic actions in the corruption fight as well as thorough personnelpreparations for the congress.

With20-year efforts to maintain the teaching and learning of Vietnamese language atthe Prague centre, Son appreciated Party and State leaders’ support for this work,adding that he hopes the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic will coordinatewith agencies in the homeland to help maintain the language teaching andlearning in the European nation.

Vietnamesepeople form one of the largest foreigners’ communities in the Czech Republicand was also recognised as an ethnic group there./.

Tien Giang steps up efforts to eliminate substandard houses

According to the Tien Giang People’s Committee, 485 homes for policy beneficiaries, families of war martyrs, and low-income households will be supported. Of these, 284 new homes will be built, and 201 existing ones repaired, with a total budget of 24.1 billion VND (about 984,000 USD). As of March 6, construction had started on 166 houses, with 32 already completed.
