A delegation from the Vietnam BuddhistSangha (VBS) Central Committee held Dharma ceremonies for overseasVietnamese in Dresden and Berlin cities and Franken region of theBayern State from May 15-16 to celebrate the Buddha’s birthday andthe 2,554 th year of the Buddhist Calendar.
At the ceremonies, Most Venerable Thich Chon Thien, Vice Chairman ofthe VBS Central Committee’s Executive Council, affirmed the pureness ofthe Buddhist dogmas on peace, mercy and altruism.
Buddhism always goes abreast with and actively contributes to thecause of the national construction and development, he stressed.
He also called upon overseas Buddhist followers and lovers inGermany to make more contributions to the homeland, looking towardsthe 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in October and the 6 thWorld Buddhist Summit in November this year.
He also affirmed that the VBS Central Committee is ready to respondto questions on the Buddhist dogmas by Buddhist followers and theVietnamese community in Germany./.
