A delegation from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Committee held Dharma ceremonies for overseas Vietnamese in Dresden and Berlin cities and Franken region of the Bayern State from May 15-16 to celebrate the Buddha’s birthday and the 2,554 th year of the Buddhist Calendar.
At the ceremonies, Most Venerable Thich Chon Thien, Vice Chairman of the VBS Central Committee’s Executive Council, affirmed the pureness of the Buddhist dogmas on peace, mercy and altruism.
Buddhism always goes abreast with and actively contributes to the cause of the national construction and development, he stressed.
He also called upon overseas Buddhist followers and lovers in Germany to make more contributions to the homeland, looking towards the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in October and the 6 th World Buddhist Summit in November this year.
He also affirmed that the VBS Central Committee is ready to respond to questions on the Buddhist dogmas by Buddhist followers and the Vietnamese community in Germany./.
